NAAAP Boston is seeking a person with strong leadership skills, impeccable communication skills, and contagious enthusiasm to fill the Executive Vice President position for the 2010-11 term. If you are an active member in NAAAP Boston and are interested in making an impact on the organization, this may be the role for you! As second officer in charge, The Executive Vice President (EVP) works closely with the President, Samson Lee, and all leaders to execute NAAAP Boston's vision, growth, and direction. The EVP serves on NAAAP Boston's Executive Team, along with the President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The EVP essentially acts as the president's top aide and counsel to help set the overall strategy and initiatives. S/he plays a critical role as key manager and administrator to help implement and realize organizational goals and initiatives, both internal and external. Given this mandate, like the president, the EVP also presides over the daily administration and operations, helps to manage and steer the organization and its leaders, and ensures the quality of programming and deliverables to members, sponsors, and community-at-large. The EVP is also an ambassador for the organization at events.

As the main intermediary for the president, the EVP is a role that asks for a combination of vision, good tactical skills, diplomacy, good judgment and maturity in approaching a variety of project, people, and managerial issues that come with managing an organization. The EVP may have direct report duties where Chairs/Co-Chairs will be accountable to the EVP or where the EVP may help to ensure the quality or follow through of work by other leaders.

The EVP role is a flexible one and if elected, you will have the opportunity to also set your own goals and objectives, with the support and guidance of the Executive Team. You will also be trained by the former Executive Vice President, Betty Chu, to ensure a smooth transition.

If you are interested in applying to become the next EVP of NAAAP Boston, please contact Lisa Rong (secretary) directly at lisa.rong@naaapboston.org. You must be an active and current member of NAAAP Boston for a minimum of 1 year and be able to attend a monthly board meeting and Executive Team meeting.
