<- Back to Leaders

Yong-Hua He currently works at Boston Public Schools (BPS) Department of Early Childhood where she rolls out quality kindergarten programming for the district by co-managing the $5 million budget for all schools going through NAEYC accreditation, professional development for all teachers and paraprofessionals and procurement of all curriculum materials including furniture. In 2009, she coordinated the Summer Reading Academies, a four-week literacy program for Boston's youngest learners attending commonwealth priority schools. In addition to her work at BPS, Yong-Hua volunteers relentlessly in the community with her participation in the steering committee for Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence and is a mentor to two BPS high school seniors who are attending Excel High School and Madison Park.

A member of NAAAP Boston since April 2008, she coordinated the signature Interviewing Workshop with 1-on-1 Practice with Student Outreach, Entrepreneurial Spirit Panel Discussion and Communicating with Confidence. She looks forward to complementing Professional Development co-chair, James Fong, with producing professional development events that are conducive to the personal and career advancement of its members. Yong-Hua lives in the South End of Boston with her mischievous beagle, Tomahawk. In her spare time she enjoys marathon long walks in the park, reading non-fiction and riding on her antique bike, free bird.
