The last volunteer event of the year took place on Sunday, December 11th and started off with a big bang... literally. Festivities for the Wang YMCA 27th Annual Christmas Party began by decorating the gymnasium with balloons (and popping some in the process). NAAAP Boston Volunteers blew-up over 500 balloons to transform the gym into a magical wonderland.
The day continued with set-up for games, prizes, food, and gifts. When the door opened to guests, over 500 underprivileged children and families of the local community arrived to celebrate the holidays. Laughter filled the room as children ran, bounced, and tossed rings, balls, and bean bags. NAAAP volunteers were responsible for operating the exciting games kids played to earn tickets for prizes. In the same tradition as previous years, the day ended with children receiving an age-appropriate gift.
This event was a success thanks to 30 NAAAP volunteers who gave up their day. We couldn't have done it without you!
