NAAAP Boston held its first ever Halloween Pumpkin Painting and Carving event on Saturday October 22. The event was produced by the Community Service Committee (CSC) in partnership with the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) and held at the BCNC in Boston’s Chinatown. The CSC helped to spread some Halloween spirit to the Chinatown community by giving away over 50 pumpkins to Boston area children. Each child got to choose his or her own pumpkin and then decorate it by painting or carving it. The children also enjoyed some light refreshments and Halloween candy provided by the committee. CSC volunteers worked during the event to assist the children in decorating their pumpkins and by manning the refreshments table, as well as helping with setup, event advertising, and cleanup. Both the children and volunteers had fun at what we hope will become a regular event in the future.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping to make the day a success:  Felix Cheng, Michael Lee, Jason Li, Mel Chen, Nitita Pongsanarakul, Sue Wong, Hannah Kim, Trang Nguyen, Khoa Nguyen, Victoria Wu, Susanna Huynh, and David Eng.
