Networking Committee posted on September 22, 2011
On
Thursday, September 22, over 80 people attended NAAAP Boston’s Summer
Networking Series wrap-up event, the networking mixer at District
Restaurant & Lounge.
The
event nodded at the end of summer with a lighthearted tropical
paradise/luau theme, replete with palm trees, parrots, and flamingoes.
Attendees were welcomed with leis and hors d’oeuvres as they arrived and
introduced to the evening’s facilitated networking activity.
Attendees
were given name tags and a sheet of five stickers at registration.
After listing three networking goals for the evening on their own name
tags, attendees were instructed to help others achieve their goals and
to award stickers to those who offered the best recommendations and
connections. At the end of the night, the three top contenders
introduced themselves on stage. Nitita Pongsanarakul, a volunteer for
BUILD Boston and recipient of 13 stickers, was crowned Networking MVP
for the night and awarded a luau-themed prize.
Thanks to everyone who attended and made the event a success! We look forward to seeing you at future events.
Organized by the Networking Committee,
NAAAP Boston networking mixers are an excellent opportunity to catch up
with old friends, make new acquaintances, and strengthen your
network—
and they are always fun! Our next mixer will be in November;
details to be announced in the event calendar.
