The Launch of the Entrepreneur Track of the Professional Development Committee was held on July 21st, 2011 at Hult International Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was attended by fifty entrepreneurs and professionals curious about entrepreneurship. The evening had a theme of “On-site Team Formation & Sales Pitches”.  Duy Le, the lead for the track, started off the Launch with brief opening remarks. Mariana Espinosa, president of Hult's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club, welcomed the audience.

The event started with attendees filling out brief surveys to help capture what their interests are for future events on this track. The main component of this Launch was the business/idea “pitches”. The first ten pitches were from attendees who prepared and signed up for the pitches beforehand. These pitches included entrepreneurs (see list below) who are their own bosses in photography, social media, finance, and organic products. These prepared pitches were followed by an open mike session when anyone in the audience can pitch their services or product. Another four attendees pitched their original ideas and business for the audience to hear.

Since each pitch was followed by questions from the audience, the night evolved into a session where the attendees openly asked each other questions such as "what if people steal your ideas from such an event like this?" The lively discussions were a great lead-in into the networking part of the night. The point of the directed networking was team formation. The attendees were broken up into 4 groups with each group going into different parts of the room. The groups were IT professionals, sales/marketing/consultancy professionals, people with ideas, and all others. The point of this breakdown was for the attendees to see visually people they should talk to as well as get to know others in the same field. The night was accompanied by catered food and drinks as well as a cash bar.  Each attendee was given a gift bag with marketing materials from the pitchers and Hult.
