About Francis E. Chin
Francis Chin began his own firm in 1986 following an eight year career practicing banking, corporate and immigration law at another firm. After receiving his B.A. from Middlebury College in German Literature, Francis went on to pursue a J.D. from the New York University School of Law, where he served as the Executive Editor of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. While in college he was named a Thomas J. Watson Foundation Fellow, which provided him with the opportunity to study overseas Chinese communities in Southeast and East Asia. Upon establishing his own firm, Francis developed the core focus of the firm within the area of business immigration law. He has written a number of articles regarding immigration law, and lectured at conferences sponsored by the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Council on International Personnel, the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc., and the Practicing Law Institute. He was a founder and is a current active member of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts, and also a founder and current Executive Board member of the Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers.
