THE NETWORKING COMMITTEE
About our work
Networking is often little more than an overhyped buzzword. Not so in NAAAP Boston. Here, we cut through the chit chat and make sure that networking amounts to more than a stack of business cards. We bring it back to the basics: to building substantive two-way relationships that stand the test of time.
We believe that strong relationships are key to personal and professional success--and we know that these relationships don't happen overnight. That's why we plan carefully to produce events that are as constructive as they are welcoming and fun. We help you network for breadth and depth, expanding the size of your network and strengthening the connections within it.
We produce 40 percent of NAAAP Boston's programming. Our events--among them the bimonthly mixers, the annual Red Sox home game, and NAAAP Boston's signature annual holiday ball--are some of NAAAP Boston's longest-standing and best-attended.
About our committee
We believe strongly
in NAAAP's core values of leadership, diversity, and community and we
strive to embody these values in our events as well as our internal
operations. Our committee is characterized by a marked culture of collaboration, team building, leadership development, and mutual support.
Our committee consists of two directors, Celia Ho and Lilian Hung, twelve core committee members, and four subcommittees:
- Networking Mixers: Networking mixers are NAAAP Boston's most frequent event, with 6 to 12 held each year. They help members and sponsors make valuable connections and expand networks. Attendance historically ranges from 75-100+.
- Small-Scale Events: Smaller events complement our mixers, allowing members to deepen new and existing relationships. These events are designed to serve groups of 10-50 and allow for lots of creativity.
- Holiday Party: NAAAP Boston hosts an annual holiday party to celebrate our community's shared accomplishments and to thank members and sponsors for their support. It's one of NAAAP's signature events and is always festive and fun.
- Quality Improvement: This team evaluates operations and creates processes to make our committee and events more effective. It develops best practices that are shared with other committees and future Networking Committee members.
