On the behalf of the 2010 leadership team, I want to welcome you to the National Association of Asian American Professionals – Boston Chapter (NAAAP Boston). Over the past two and half years as your President, I have seen tremendous success and growth in the organization including:

• Becoming one of the largest chapters in North America, with 350 members strong and growing
• Organizing a diverse program of events, highlighting Community Service, Professional Development and Networking opportunities including:

• Giving out $10,000 in scholarships to local high school students despite the recession
• Bringing in high quality speakers

• Offering a platform to learn and practice leadership skills to fulfill our vision, "We make leaders!"
• We have the support of 10 corporate sponsors: Blue Cross Blue Shields of MA, Comcast, EMC, John Hancock, Liberty Mutual, Ocean Spray, Putnam Investments, State Street, SunLife Financial and Tufts Health Plan
• We have 7 strategic In-Kind sponsors: Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Bentley University, Boston RedSox, Color Magazine, Global View Communications, King and Bishop and Tufts Medical Center
• Winning three excellence awards at the National Convention for:

• highest membership growth and diverse programming
• most effective professional development programming and

• Hosting the NAAAP National Convention in the Fall of 2011 along with celebrating our 25^th anniversary

Through the dedication and hard work of our leadership team, we have enjoyed higher attendance at all our events, greater quality programming and increased benefits for our members. Having been involved since 1997, I have enjoyed all that NAAAP Boston has to offer – a network of professional contacts and friends, development of my career skills, and opportunities to give back to the community. As impressive as our growth has been the past several years, there is still work to be done. We need to continue to grow in members, in events and in the community so that we can keep making advancements for Asian Americans. Our vision, "We make leaders!" is the main, driving force for our organization &emdash; and there are many opportunities to not only attend, but also to plan and run events.
